Matthew S. Davis has been an attorney in California since 1999, and his principal practice is in the areas of escrow law, real property, and corporate and business litigation and transactions.   Mr. Davis also serves as general counsel to numerous escrow companies throughout Southern California.  He has extensive experience in representing public and private clients in complex matters, including environmental and labor and employment litigation. 

Mr. Davis' transactional experience includes advising both public and private clients in environmental compliance, as well as the development of personnel rules and policies, including discipline and grievance procedures, the investigation of complaints and grievances, and drafting of employment agreements.

Mr. Davis is a member of the State Bar of California, and is particularly active in the Southern California legal community, including the Beverly Hills Bar Association and the Los Angeles County Bar Association.  In addition, Mr. Davis has had an appointment as the attorney member of the Escrow Advisory Committee of the Department of Corporations and is a frequent lecturer on escrow law and risk management practices.

Mr. Davis received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in anatomy in neurobiology from Colorado State University.  Mr. Davis received his law degree from Southwestern University Law School in Los Angeles, California. 

As a law student, Mr. Davis completed an externship for the Honorable Rupert J. Groh, Jr. of the United States District Court for the Central District of California where he wrote numerous bench memorandums on subjects including: intellectual property, contracts, habeas corpus petitions, civil pre-trial discovery, and law and motion.  Additionally, he completed an externship in the Los Angeles Superior Court, Northwest District, in the Law and Motion Department experiencing all aspects of law and motion and civil pre-trial discovery.
